One of our favorite things to do in Colorado is to go hiking. When we choose a hiking trail we put a few things into consideration: how long, elevation gain, dog-friendly, water access, and views.

One of our favorite hikes to do is located in Golden, CO. It is the Mount Galbraith Loop. Within this hike, there are multiple different trails and ways to do it. Our favorite is to start the Nightbird Trail and end at the Cedar Gulch parking lot. The length is 7.5 miles with an elevation gain of 1,801 feet and it takes roughly 4 hours. While this one doesn’t have water access the views at the top of the mountain are unforgettable.

Another favorite of ours is located in Evergreen, CO. It is called Maxwell Falls. This trail is also a loop. The length is 3.9 miles an elevation gain of 823 feet with an estimated completion time of 2 hours. We love this one for not only the waterfall but that our dog is allowed to enter the water.

The last honorable mention for hikes is located in Morrison, CO. It is the Red Rocks and Morrison Slide loop. With a length of 3.2 miles an elevation gain of 692 feet and an estimated time of 1 hour and 40 minutes. It is one of the easiest hikes to do with amazing views.
